Attributes

To put it simply, Attributes are Options!

Colours and sizes are two examples of attributes that you will mostly likely use in Zen Cart.

They can be optional (like offering to gift wrap an order) or they can be required (like sizes for clothing).

In the case of required attributes we can force a customer to make a choice (by not letting them add a product to their cart if they don’t choose an option) or we can preselect a default option.

These different methods can vary from product to product in the same store and the chosen method will depend on the products you sell.

Adding Attributes in Zen is broken down in to two main stages, adding the Attributes to the store (See Adding Attributes to your store) and adding the Attributes to your products (See Adding Attributes to your products).
